Meet the Author

Hi, I’m Sebastian Graham, the person behind spectralinterlude.com.

I started this site because I wanted to create a space where World of Warcraft players—whether new, returning, or long-time veterans—could find useful guides without fluff or filler. I’ve been playing WoW since 2006, and I’ve made just about every mistake you can make in the game. That’s one of the main reasons I write: to save you the time and frustration I went through.

I grew up in Devon, England, and I now live in Bath, where I split my time between tech support work and running this site. I’m not a developer, influencer, or brand. I’m just a long-time player who still gets excited about patch notes and dungeon timers.

My journey with WoW started by accident. I was in university when someone in my dorm asked if I’d tried it. I hadn’t. I barely knew what an MMO was. But I gave it a shot, rolled a Night Elf Hunter, and immediately got lost in Teldrassil. I remember being confused about how to equip a bow and thinking “Agility” was a spell stat. But even with those early stumbles, I was hooked.

As the game grew, so did my understanding of it. I tried tanking in Wrath, switched to healing in Cataclysm, and then spent most of Mists and Warlords refining my damage-dealing classes. I played Enhancement Shaman for years, then moved to Shadow Priest and eventually landed on Vengeance Demon Hunter once Mythic+ became a regular part of my gameplay. I’ve run thousands of dungeons and raids across every expansion. Some days I push content with friends. Other times I pug with randoms just to see what works and what doesn’t for the average player.

That experience is what shapes everything I write.

I don’t use copy-paste builds. I test them myself—sometimes dozens of times over. I don’t post rotation tips unless I’ve practiced them in real fights. I don’t make gear lists unless I’ve seen how stats perform in practice, not just on a spreadsheet. If I write about a class or strategy, it’s because I’ve spent time learning how to play it under pressure.

When I launched spectralinterlude.com, I had one goal: to write guides that feel like they’re written by someone you know. Someone who gets it. Someone who remembers what it’s like to feel unsure about your build, or to waste time reading five articles that all say the same vague thing. I wanted to strip all that away and just give you the good stuff: what works, what doesn’t, and why.

I’ve played every class at max level at some point. I’ve cleared Mythic raids during several expansions, reached over 2,400 rating in 3v3 Arena, and completed more Mythic+ dungeons than I can count. But none of that means anything if the guides I write aren’t useful to you. That’s always my main focus—can a real player use this and get better results?

Mythic+ is probably where I spend the most time now. I enjoy the challenge of timers, the variety of affixes, and the way it forces you to stay sharp. I’ve written full dungeon breakdowns, route suggestions, and tanking strategies based on my own runs—wins and wipes included. I also test classes in solo content, battlegrounds, and weekly events to keep things well-rounded.

This isn’t a team project. I write every line. I update every post. I test every build I suggest. It takes time, but I’d rather do it right than just chase clicks. That’s why you won’t find spammy ads, sponsored gear links, or auto-generated content here. Everything is hand-written and comes from actual game experience.

If you’re wondering about the name “Spectral Interlude,” it’s a bit of nostalgia. I was part of a guild by that name during the later part of Mists of Pandaria. We weren’t top-tier, but we were solid—and we had fun. That guild disbanded long ago, but the name stuck with me. When it came time to start this site, I brought it back as a way to honor those good memories and the people who helped shape my WoW experience.

I’ve never been one to chase social media followers or stream my gameplay. I prefer to spend my time doing the actual testing and writing. That’s what I enjoy—and that’s what I hope you find valuable here.

If you ever want to get in touch, I’m easy to reach. Whether you have feedback, a question about a class, or a suggestion for a new guide, I read every message I receive. Just email me at:

Thank you for taking the time to read this—and more importantly, thank you for trusting this site with your time and your gameplay. I’ll keep playing, writing, and testing as long as people keep finding it helpful.

See you in the next pull.
